In memory of Anja, the photographer of doubts

Yesterday the author of this picture got killed in Afghanistan. Her name was Anja Niedringhaus, a photographer of the Association Press. She was well known for her reportages about war scenarios and awarded in 2005 the Pulitzer Price and the Nieman Fellowship at Harvard.

I saw her pictures for the first time yesterday, when the news about her death were all over the Internet, and her shots game me causes to doubt about war, cultures, and contradictions of contemporary society.

Did you know about Anja talent? If not I really suggest you to have a look at some of her pictures on her website.

Today’s doubt is Anja Niedringhaus’ one: the doubt of a talent that looked deeply into the world around her.

Anjahadadoubt,

…and I hope you too

  1. That’s very kind of you to devote your current blog on her memory; nice site I looked at it carefully… when photography meets life…somewhere far from here or now…
